ISO 14001 Certification.
Sustainability
SGAI and SGAILAB operate according to an Integrated Quality-Environment-Safety Management System , aimed at preventing environmental impacts, complying with applicable regulations, and continuously improving environmental performance.
Engineering design, geological and geotechnical studies, environmental monitoring, and laboratory testing of soil, rock, and water have limited environmental impacts and are managed through structured procedures for identifying, controlling, and monitoring environmental aspects, consistent with the principles of ISO 14001.
Environmental Management
The organization ensures compliance with applicable environmental regulations and controls the impacts associated with its operational activities.
Specifically:
-
Activities are not subject to EIA, IPPC, or Seveso regulations.
-
Water discharges are managed in an authorized manner, with an active AUA for laboratory activities.
-
There is no soil or subsoil contamination.
-
Systems and equipment are subject to periodic preventative maintenance.
-
Regulatory compliance is subject to periodic internal audits.
Energy and Resources
Energy and water consumption are monitored and managed to minimize resource use.
-
Monitoring electricity, gas, and fuel consumption.
-
Use of high-efficiency air conditioning systems (heat pumps);
-
30 kW photovoltaic system installed;
-
Water consumption is limited primarily to restrooms and laboratory activities.
Waste and Emissions
Waste and emissions are managed according to defined procedures and in compliance with current regulations.
-
Tracked management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
-
Separate collection of office waste.
-
Limited atmospheric emissions, primarily attributable to company vehicles.
-
Noise, vibration, electromagnetic fields, and light pollution are assessed as insignificant.
Operational Activities and Suppliers
During on-site activities and technical inspections, environmental prevention measures are adopted to reduce impacts on the local area.
SGAI also promotes the involvement of qualified suppliers and companies with procedures or management systems aimed at reducing environmental impacts.
